Privacy Policy for Yeti To Eat

Effective Date: September 14, 2026
Last Updated: September 14, 2026

Yeti To Eat LLC ("Yeti To Eat," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use:

  • The Yeti To Eat mobile application;
  • The website located at www.yetitoeat.com; and
  • Any related services, features, communications, or programs we provide.

Collectively, these are referred to as the "Services."

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Yeti To Eat and which permissions or features you choose to enable.

A. Account and Profile Information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect:

  • Email address;
  • Username;
  • Password or authentication credentials in protected form;
  • Selected avatar;
  • Account settings;
  • Subscription or account status; and
  • Communications you send to us.

Your username, avatar, points, achievements, or ranking may be visible to other users if you participate in public or shared leaderboard features. Do not include sensitive personal information in your username.

B. Restaurant and Dining Preferences

To personalize restaurant recommendations, we may collect information you provide about:

  • Preferred cuisines or types of food;
  • Dietary preferences or restrictions;
  • Price preferences;
  • Travel-distance preferences;
  • Accessibility preferences;
  • Restaurants you favorite, save, reject, or mark as "don't go there";
  • Restaurant selections and recommendation history; and
  • Other preference categories offered within the app.

Some dietary or accessibility preferences could reveal sensitive information about you. Providing these preferences is voluntary. You may select "no preference" where available and may edit your preferences through the app.

C. Location Information

With your permission, Yeti To Eat may collect or process your device's approximate or precise location to:

  • Identify restaurants within your selected distance;
  • Provide locally relevant restaurant recommendations;
  • Determine your proximity to a selected restaurant;
  • Verify an eligible restaurant visit or check-in;
  • Award points or complete location-based activities; and
  • Prevent fraudulent or inaccurate visit claims.

If enabled, certain visit-verification or geofencing features may access location when the app is in the background or not actively displayed. Yeti To Eat does not use location information for third-party advertising and does not sell precise location information.

You can control location access through your device settings. Depending on the feature, denying or disabling location access may limit nearby restaurant recommendations, visit verification, points, or other location-based functionality. Where available, you may enter a location manually or use a less precise location option.

D. App Activity and Usage Information

We may collect information about how you interact with the Services, such as:

  • Features, screens, and buttons used;
  • Restaurant searches, matches, and selections;
  • Shake, tap, slide, or other selection methods;
  • Yeti story views or skips;
  • Points, achievements, challenges, and leaderboard activity;
  • Favorites and saved preferences;
  • Session dates, times, and duration;
  • Referring pages; and
  • App performance, error, and crash information.

E. Device and Technical Information

We may automatically receive certain technical information, including:

  • Device type and model;
  • Operating system and app version;
  • Browser type;
  • IP address;
  • Device or app identifiers;
  • Language and time-zone settings;
  • Network and diagnostic information; and
  • Cookie or similar technology information from our website.

We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.

F. Payment and Subscription Information

Purchases or subscriptions may be processed by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another authorized payment provider.

We generally do not receive or store your complete credit-card or bank-account number. We may receive limited transaction information, such as:

  • Subscription status;
  • Product or plan purchased;
  • Transaction or receipt identifier;
  • Payment status;
  • Renewal or expiration date; and
  • Limited billing or contact information.

Payment providers process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

G. Communications

If you contact us, join a mailing list, respond to a survey, or request assistance, we may collect your name, email address, message contents, and other information you choose to provide.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts;
  • Provide personalized restaurant recommendations;
  • Apply distance, price, cuisine, dietary, and accessibility preferences;
  • Display restaurant information;
  • Verify restaurant visits or check-ins;
  • Administer points, achievements, leaderboards, or promotions;
  • Process and manage subscriptions;
  • Send account, security, transaction, and service communications;
  • Respond to questions and support requests;
  • Diagnose crashes and technical problems;
  • Monitor performance and improve the Services;
  • Prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents;
  • Enforce our terms and protect our legal rights;
  • Comply with legal obligations; and
  • Obtain your consent for other purposes disclosed at the time of collection.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information for research, analytics, product planning, and business purposes. We will not attempt to re-identify properly de-identified information except as permitted by law.

3. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

A. Service Providers

We may provide information to vendors that perform services on our behalf, including:

  • Cloud hosting and database services, such as Amazon Web Services;
  • Restaurant search and location-data providers, such as Google Places or Google Maps Platform;
  • Payment and subscription processors, such as Apple, Google, or Stripe;
  • Email-delivery providers, such as Postmark;
  • Authentication, security, analytics, and crash-reporting providers; and
  • Developers, technical contractors, and professional advisers supporting Yeti To Eat.

These providers may use information only as permitted by their agreements with us and applicable law.

B. Other Users

If you participate in leaderboards or social features, other users may see information such as your username, avatar, points, ranking, or achievements.

We do not publicly display your email address or precise location through these features.

C. Restaurant Information Providers

We may send a location, search area, preference, or restaurant-related request to a restaurant-information provider to retrieve relevant results. We do not provide a restaurant with your identity merely because it appears as a recommendation unless you separately choose to contact, book, order from, or interact with that restaurant or another third-party service.

D. Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
  • Investigate fraud, misuse, or security threats;
  • Enforce our agreements;
  • Protect the rights, safety, and property of Yeti To Eat, our users, or others; or
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

E. Business Transfers

Information may be disclosed or transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar business transaction. Any successor will remain subject to applicable privacy obligations.

F. With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or provide consent.

4. Sale, Sharing, and Advertising

Yeti To Eat does not sell personal information for money.

We do not sell or share precise location information for third-party advertising. We also do not use precise location to build advertising profiles about users.

If our practices change in a manner that constitutes "selling," "sharing," or targeted advertising under applicable law, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required choices before using information in that manner.

5. Cookies and Website Technologies

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to:

  • Operate and secure the website;
  • Remember settings;
  • Understand website performance;
  • Prevent fraud; and
  • Diagnose technical issues.

You may be able to manage cookies through your browser. Disabling necessary cookies may affect website functionality.

6. Location Controls

Location access is subject to your device permissions.

You can revoke or change location permission through your iOS or Android settings. You may also be able to disable a location-based feature within the app.

Disabling location does not automatically delete location information previously associated with your account. You may request deletion as described below.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide and maintain the Services;
  • Keep your account active;
  • Complete transactions;
  • Resolve disputes;
  • Prevent fraud and abuse;
  • Meet accounting, tax, security, and legal requirements; and
  • Enforce our agreements.

The retention period may vary by information type and purpose.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we will delete or de-identify it. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten through ordinary backup procedures.

We may retain limited records after account deletion when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, financial recordkeeping, legal compliance, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.

8. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Yeti To Eat account and associated personal information:

  • Through the Delete Account option within the app; or
  • Through the account-deletion page provided on www.yetitoeat.com.

You may also contact us using the information in Section 15.

Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account.

When we verify and complete a deletion request, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account, subject to limited information we must or are permitted to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or financial-recordkeeping purposes.

Apple requires apps offering account creation to provide in-app account deletion, while Google requires both an in-app method and an external website method.

9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information;
  • Access or obtain a copy of certain information;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Delete certain information;
  • Obtain certain information in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent;
  • Opt out of certain sales, sharing, profiling, or targeted advertising; and
  • Appeal our response to a privacy request.

Yeti To Eat does not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.

To submit a request, contact us using the information in Section 15. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority to make the request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization.

Because Yeti To Eat does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there may be no sale or targeted-advertising activity from which to opt out.

10. Children's Privacy

Yeti To Eat is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If the law where a user lives requires a higher minimum age for consenting to online services, that higher age applies.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without legally required parental consent. If we learn that we collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information may contact us using the information in Section 15.

COPPA imposes special requirements when an online service is directed to children under 13 or knowingly collects their personal information.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

However, no internet transmission, mobile application, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

Yeti To Eat may display restaurant information or provide links to maps, restaurant websites, ordering platforms, social networks, or other third-party services.

This Privacy Policy does not govern those third parties. Your interactions with them are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review those policies before providing personal information.

13. International Users

Yeti To Eat is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services or legal obligations change.

We will post the revised policy with an updated "Last Updated" date. If changes materially affect how we use previously collected personal information, we will provide additional notice or request consent when required by law.
